The German Department at the University of Pittsburgh is an officially authorized testing center by the Goethe Institut. We typically offer examinations at the A2, B1, B2, and C1 levels. These exams are designed to demonstrate proficiency in German and are recognized all over the world.
Usually, we offer exams once a year in late fall, but if there is sufficient interest, might also set up a testing date in the spring. If you are interested in taking the exam at our testing center, please fill out this questionnaire.
The fees for the exams are as follows (November 2021):
If you are a student at the University of Pittsburgh, CMU, or Mt. Lebanon HS:
A2: $120, B1: $140, B2: $150, C1: $160
For everyone else:
A2: $180, B1: $200, B2: $220, C1: $250
